Advice on relationship issues?

My girlfriend and I have been together for nine months now. It seems that we've been having a rough spot and the question has come up as to if we should call it quits or not. We've both been through alot of changes lately and neither of us deal too well with change. We had to spend the summer apart since we had both left for college at the end of May. She lives four hours away and her mother forbid us from seeing eachother this summer. My mother and I have had a rocky past with an abusive relationship towards me from her. I've tried to start building the bridge between us again. My girlfriend seems to be upset with this because six months ago my mother and I werent talking. All in all its been alot of changes and Carly and I seem to argue and bicker everyday. After a breakdown from both of us today I told her that I would make it work no matter what happens. Does anybody have any advice on this situation?
