Blackberry Curve 8330?

I have a COMPANY Blackberry 8330 that is "locked down" from the standpoint I can't download 3rd party applications or ring-tones. However it does have an SD card slot. Is anyone aware of whether I can download tones or tunes via the computer, load to an SD card, then pull them in via my Blackberry? The company issue is the download because they don't want viruses in the system. They could care less what my ring-tone is so while I am not positive I think information from the SD card will be "importable".
