Would becoming a volunteer firefighter attract women?

I am a full time student with a part time job and would love to serve my community by becoming a firefighter......now, I've ALSO heard about women having "a thing" for firemen...so, would becoming a volunteer firefighter attract women? Would it impress ladies that already know you? haha
