Could tears be holy water?
Since tears are shed in joy and in sorrow, since contrition involves tears, whether it be perfect contrition or imperfect contrition, perfect being in love, imperfect being in fear, as in, some cry when they have received a gift, a new born child, or a woman when she marries, sometimes even men, or when they lose that child, husband or wife, whether it is by death or separation, still it takes place, we are blessed when we repent, that is if we stick to it, and that involves tears, and if we do not stick to it, we lose it, and that involves tears, it says he will wipe our tears away, that is touched by the very essence of God, tears can make one whole again, or they are a sign of something being torn away, children cry when they are hurt, or when they have been punished, they cry when they see someone they have not seen in awhile, so I wonder very little how important tears are, so as tears come from the lachrymal gland, there it was, ancient times, lachrymatory, a small bottle of gl with a narrow neck found in ancient tombs called an alabaster, and formerly supposed to hold the tears of mourners? I just wonder if God collects tears as Holy water?
