Should I go to the wedding?

My boyfriend's brother and his girlfriend are getting married ( actually they got married in a courthouse already, but are having a ceremony at the parent's house). My question is, if I don't receive an invitation, should I go to the ceremony? I went with the bride for gown shopping and my boyfriend thinks its ridiculous that I not go, because everyone umes I'm invited through informal conversations with the couple and my boyfriend's parents.
